How To Hear From God | Bible Study

• Deuteronomy 28:1 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord you God will set you high above all the nations of the world.” 
  
• - Psalm 40:6 “You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings.” 
• - Psalm 95:7-8 “for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness.” 
• - Psalm 119:129, 130 “Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them! The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.” 
• - Jeremiah 7:23 “This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’” 
• - Matthew 7:24,25 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.” 
• - Matthew 13:19-23 “The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that as planted in their hearts. The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they don’t last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God’s word. The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” 
• - John 10:5 “They won’t follow a stranger, they will run from him because they don’t know his voice.” 
• - John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” 
  

• - Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, that is hearing the Good News about Christ.” 
• - James 1:22-25 “But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.” 
• - James 5:16 “... the heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” 
• - Psalms 66:19 “But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.” 
• - Micah 7:7 “As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.” 
• - Praise, thanksgiving, exalting him, sharing your cares with him, inviting him into your situation, how much you love him. 
• - Listen - write it down 
• - Intercession 
• - Decrees/Affirmations - make it apply to you, others you're praying for 
• - First, you need to believe that you can hear from God. You need to believe that God still speaks to His people. You need to believe that He wants to get His word to you. He has rhema that is His word for Him. 
• - You need to create the time and space for Him to speak and you listen. 
• - You need to plead the blood of Jesus over your thoughts and mind and prayer time. 
• - Set up space, time, and material to assist you in your God time. 
• - Read the prophets and Psalms and see the examples of God speaking. 
• - Create “God-Time” Book & Rework your schedule 
• - Ask the Holy Spirit to examine your life, especially your thought life and repent of any sins or vows/confessions you have made that may be in direct violation of the word of God and repair the breach/hedge with the blood of Christ. 

• - HW: Set up the time and space and notebook for your God time. Begin journaling your time with God. Do, a heart and brain dump by writing a letter before the Lord. Address it to him and you can keep this only between the two of you. But, write down every injustice, every hurt, every failure, everything that is of concern to you, and things that you know you need to let go of and heal yourself from. This also includes things you need to forgive yourself of. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal things that you need to face and address in this exercise as well. Write all of it down. When that is complete, begin to pray over it, ask God into that hurt and pain and ask Him to begin to heal you of it now and ask Him what else He would have you do. (It makes it much harder to hear from God with all of this emotional and spiritual clutter. You need to obtain peace in your soul that is only provided by the Prince of Peace. Do the great exchange. Wash everything under the detergent of the blood of Christ and move on with your life.) 
• - HW: Speak out scriptures that will aid your healing process and guard your heart and mind against any current attacks of the enemy. 
• - HW: Write out 5 long-term and short-term goals that you have for your life that gives you vision. (Family, House, Career, Personal, etc) Begin to pray over this.
