Bible Study Week 2 - Alpha and Omega

Did you have any thoughts or revelations while reading and writing these scriptures?


God is the beginning and the end - He knew the end of human history/the world before He created the foundations of the earth.


We see this in the way He created the world as we discussed last time.


It’s interesting to note that when people write movie scripts, novels, or other storytelling works, the artists usually start with the end first and then work their way back to then write the beginning. We even create in the same as God because we are after all made in His image.


Alpha & Omega - The Beginning and The End


He created and started creation, Heavens and all of eternity and He will be the one to end it, recreate and reestablish it - Genesis -> Revelation (The Apocalypse) 


Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord God, He Who is and Who was and Who is to come, the Almighty (the Ruler of all).”


Is 41:4 “Who has prepared and done this, calling forth and giving the destinies of the generations [of the nations] from the beginning? I, the Lord-the first [existing before history began] and with the last [an ever-present, unchanging God] - I am He.”


Is 9:6-7 “For to us a Child is born, to us, a Son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father [of Eternity], Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and of peace, there shall be no end, upon the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from the [latter] time forth, even forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”


What is most impressive to you about God being the beginning and the end?
Are you glad He is in total control? Does this realization help you to worry less about your situations and outcomes?


Establish it as a habit to deeply reflect and gaze upon His majesty and Almighty vastness and control when hard and good times come. Have you done this before?


Rev 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” NLT


John 1:1-5 “In the Beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was present originally with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him, and without Him was not even one thing made that has come into being. In Him was Life, and the Life was Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].” AMP


Jesus is mentioned in the very first verse of scripture, Gen 1:1 and the very last of scripture Rev 22:21

Alpha and Omega! Hallelujah!

Journal :
When you think about John 1:1-5 in particular, how does it make you feel that God's hand selected you to exist as a being made in His image? 

Have you felt His desire to form a deep and loving relationship with you? 

How does that make you feel in/about your relationship with Him? 

Does it make you understand how precious you are to Him? Why or why not? 

How can you go deeper into this concept with Him in your prayer time this week?

Frienemies: Have you had a Judas?

Bible says Judas kissed Jesus with fakeness. Are there people you hug upon greeting as a real friend that you are not sincere about? Do you greet people at work with a smile and then proceed to talk about them behind their backs? Do you routinely take credit for someone else's work to get that promotion but act like you are best friends with the person you just stole from? Do you greet people with an empty and selfish heart at church? And you say hi to people with a fake smile? Have you ever told someone you'd pray for them on social media but just muddled under your breath about them instead? Have you ever pretended to give warmth to someone purely because you wanted to get something from them? All of these are examples of being a Judas. No one wants a Judas in their friendship circle even though most of us have experienced it.
