Bible Study | Strategies Against the Wiles | Week 4

Go over HW week 3: Affirmations - Review Daniel 4:27 - liberate yourself Daniel 6:18 - King most likely learned about fasting from Daniel- Daniel always fasted for others so, isn't it interesting that when Daniel needed someone to fast on his behalf in the lion’s den God created that desire in even a heathen King - how does this apply to your life? Daniel 9:3-23 - He fasts and goes into deep prayer - also shows that fasting works on behalf of others and brings about answers you need from the throne of God. But now, we have a better prayer to pray during fasting given to us by Jesus - The Lord’s Prayer - Many similarities in the essence of items prayed for/about - Jesus gives more succinct power of prayer. Matthew 6: Stay private & Lord’s Prayer - Say this prayer as your replacement of the food you are fasting. Do not announce your fast. No one should know you are fasting or be able to tell in your attitude or outer appearance.  Daniel 10:2-3 - 21 Day Fast - Intense fast bought ...

Addiction

Proverbs 3:5 “Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your insight or understanding.” God is saying your confidence needs to solely be in Him; not in yourself, your family, or your past. You cannot find confidence in the bottom of a bottle or a bag of chips. Nor will you find it in any type of sexual experience. You can’t find it on a shopping spree and most certainly won’t find it having an affair.  When we are putting our trust, confidence, sense of relief, or understanding in anything other than the Lord we are having an affair on God. The Bible states that God is a jealous God who wants to be on the throne of our hearts. That is the only way He can help you or me.  You must and need to allow God to be God because relying on anything other than Him will only lead to catastrophic results. It will lead to emptiness and sin.  God has called us to a life of joy, abundance in all good areas, and health and Godli...

How To Hear From God | Bible Study

Deuteronomy 28:1 “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord you God will set you high above all the nations of the world.”  - Psalm 40:6 “You take no delight in sacrifices or offerings. Now that you have made me listen, I finally understand you don’t require burnt offerings or sin offerings.”  - Psalm 95:7-8 “for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! The Lord says, “Don’t harden your hearts as Israel did at Meribah, as they did at Massah in the wilderness.”  - Psalm 119:129, 130 “Your laws are wonderful. No wonder I obey them! The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.”  - Jeremiah 7:23 “This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’”  - Matthew 7:24,25 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows...

Bible Study | Strategies Against the Wiles | Week 3

Go over HW week 2: Where are your strongholds? Words? Thoughts? How does the devil try to keep attacking you? Did you see a pattern? Did you ask for God’s help and angelic assistance? Did you notice how you received that help? Did you write down and speak the scriptures? Now that we know that our minds/thoughts and mouth/words are the battlefields, what are the offensive and defensive strategies and opportunities? Offensive: Visions, Decisions Defensive: Strategic scriptures, Affirmations 1. Vision. Have a purpose and vision for your life. You must stay determined that you will press forward or you will stay stuck in the past. You must decide what you want for your life. What do you want your life to consist of in 10 years? You must ask the Holy Spirit what God has planned and purpose for you to do. Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Me...
