Bible Study | Strategies Against the Wiles | Week 4

Go over HW week 3: Affirmations - Review

Daniel 4:27 - liberate yourself

Daniel 6:18 - King most likely learned about fasting from Daniel- Daniel always fasted for others so, isn't it interesting that when Daniel needed someone to fast on his behalf in the lion’s den God created that desire in even a heathen King - how does this apply to your life?

Daniel 9:3-23 - He fasts and goes into deep prayer - also shows that fasting works on behalf of others and brings about answers you need from the throne of God. But now, we have a better prayer to pray during fasting given to us by Jesus - The Lord’s Prayer - Many similarities in the essence of items prayed for/about - Jesus gives more succinct power of prayer.

Matthew 6: Stay private & Lord’s Prayer - Say this prayer as your replacement of the food you are fasting. Do not announce your fast. No one should know you are fasting or be able to tell in your attitude or outer appearance.

Daniel 10:2-3 - 21 Day Fast - Intense fast bought equal vision of & by the Lord
Angelic warfare - Daniel 10:12-13

Nehemiah 1:4-11 - Fasting & prayer - Do you notice the purpose and intensity of seeking the face and will of God? How can you apply this example to your fast?

1 Kings 21:27-29 - Fasting can delay evil consequences
Fasting - Dedicate your fast / know your why - ex: Prepare for Easter, ask Holy Spirit what you need to focus on, review scripture for call outs on sin, iniquity, and unpleasantness to the Lord, area you need answers or breakthrough - Pick 1 or 2 items/areas

Fasting together - Beginners start with 1-3 days - no meats or sweets
Refer to Jentzen’s ministry website for further information and answers to questions.

Action item: Anoint your home, yourself, car, office, business, etc w/olive oil - speak blessings and rebuke/rid all demons - Prepare your sanctuary physically and spiritually for the fast - also mentally if not used to fasting yet.

Action item: If Holy Spirit leads you to cleanse your home, entertainment, car, workplace, the totality of life from anything that would defile you and is an abomination to the Lord or will distract you - go through movies, music, text messages, screenshots, phone contacts, old photos, paperwork, statues, knick-knacks, clothing with bad memories, etc. Throw it all away - do not debate or try to reason with logic with yourself - be obedient to the Lord. Use Daniel as a great example to pursue excellence.
Find time to read the book of Daniel.

Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things the Lord hates, indeed seven are an abomination to Him. A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, & hands that shed innocent blood. A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.”

Action Item: Clean out the clutter and break off the sins in your heart & mind - pride, unforgiveness, bitterness, rebellion, lying, selfishness, unrepentant heart, gluttony, etc
Do not even give the illusion of evil. Do not even give the appearance of evil. Could the behaviors or actions you are displaying be misinterpreted as evil to someone without the facts? If so, do not engage in it.

View every situation you might enter from all sides before entering. Look to Joseph, he fled when Potiphar’s wife wanted to have sex with him. Joseph and Daniel never gave anyone the ability to misinterpret anything they did as sin - they wholeheartedly pursued excellence and due to their outstanding behavior, God could use them and promoted them mightily in both respective kingdoms because of it.

HW: Look up and write out these scriptures. Make note of what the Holy Spirit leads you to do and says to you during your study time. What does He want you to fast? What does He want you to course correct, clean, fix, repent of, throw out, forgive others or yourself of, etc?

Complete the action item suggestions that are listed that the Lord leads you to complete.

Bible Study | Strategies Against the Wiles | Week 3

Go over HW week 2: Where are your strongholds? Words? Thoughts? How does the devil try to keep attacking you? Did you see a pattern? Did you ask for God’s help and angelic assistance? Did you notice how you received that help? Did you write down and speak the scriptures? Now that we know that our minds/thoughts and mouth/words are the battlefields, what are the offensive and defensive strategies and opportunities? Offensive: Visions, Decisions Defensive: Strategic scriptures, Affirmations 1. Vision. Have a purpose and vision for your life. You must stay determined that you will press forward or you will stay stuck in the past. You must decide what you want for your life. What do you want your life to consist of in 10 years? You must ask the Holy Spirit what God has planned and purpose for you to do. Philippians 3:12-14 “Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Me...

Bible Study: The Majesty & Goodness of God Week 2

Bible Study Week 2 - Alpha and Omega Pray. HW review:  Psalm 37:4-6   Psalm 84:11  Psalm 135:3   Proverbs 10:22 Did you have any thoughts or revelations while reading and writing these scriptures? God is the beginning and the end - He knew the end of human history/the world before He created the foundations of the earth. We see this in the way He created the world as we discussed last time. It’s interesting to note that when people write movie scripts, novels, or other storytelling works, the artists usually start with the end first and then work their way back to then write the beginning. We even create in the same as God because we are after all made in His image. Alpha & Omega - The Beginning and The End He created and started creation, Heavens and all of eternity and He will be the one to end it, recreate and reestablish it - Genesis -> Revelation (The Apocalypse)  Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the...

Frienemies: Have you had a Judas?

Bible says Judas kissed Jesus with fakeness. Are there people you hug upon greeting as a real friend that you are not sincere about? Do you greet people at work with a smile and then proceed to talk about them behind their backs? Do you routinely take credit for someone else's work to get that promotion but act like you are best friends with the person you just stole from? Do you greet people with an empty and selfish heart at church? And you say hi to people with a fake smile? Have you ever told someone you'd pray for them on social media but just muddled under your breath about them instead? Have you ever pretended to give warmth to someone purely because you wanted to get something from them? All of these are examples of being a Judas. No one wants a Judas in their friendship circle even though most of us have experienced it. If you are the Judas, you must realize that in the end, Judas felt so much remorse for what he did, he hung himself. It was all for money. That is not ...
