Do I want to heal my pain?
Choose life or death.
God also knew and understands great hurt and pain. He knows what it’s like to have the most precious and valuable thing to Him be ripped away and crushed. Hopes. Dreams. Plans. Love. Family. Friends.
God also made a decision.
He chose to allow temporary pain for a forever reward. He kept His eyes focused on the outcome. On the greater good. He knows what it’s like to lose to gain. The gain is always better, more, and higher than the price it took to get you there. Joshua - before crossing over from the wilderness the men had to be circumcised for the second time before entering the promised land.
God will also ask you to make a decision. And, not only a decision but to pay a price. To also make a sacrifice.
But, by the grace of God, it will never outweigh what He already paid for you. He can handle your hurt and your pain. More importantly, He understands. He knows what it’s like to go through this process.
Not everyone understands or cares about your pain. Even in church. Pride, ego, and false humility will block a person’s emotional intelligence and empathy.
You can not look to another human being for your healing. They are just as broken as you. They may just don’t know it. And, may not be willing to remove the mask to receive their hope & healer.

God takes you through a pruning process and strips you down to the nitty-gritty. He gets rid of the junk, calloused, dead places in your heart and your life. Including people, places, and things.
Just because you successfully got through stage 1 with a certain group of people or things doesn't mean those same sets of people can handle and are called to go on to Stage 2 with you.
God does a fresh thing. He makes all things new. If you decide to allow yourself to heal God is able and willing to do it with you. God isn’t out of creativity. He is a trendsetter and idea maker. He can make happen whatever He wants to happen. Including the good plan, He has for your life. You won’t be able to figure it out. Take it from a chronic planner. Or as
The process of eagles. They renew themselves.
Jesus got alone to pray and restore himself. He the importance of time with the Healer. He knew He had to get alone so He can hear and heal correctly. People, especially the wrong people, have the opportunity to rush and ruin your process. Do not allow that to be so. Listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit of when to get time to yourself and to restore and figure who, if any should go with you.
I relate a lot to Jesus in His moments of weakness. He too was an only child with a weighty destiny to fulfill.
At possibly the worst and most sacrificial moment of His life, Jesus made the choice to carry the cross up the hill. With blood pouring down His face and our of all areas of His body. His body and mind brutally attacked. He never gave up. He chose to keep going up that hill. He chose temporary personal pain for permanent healing for the masses of others. He had you on His mind when He made that destiny decision.
During that climb with the cross on His back, Jesus looked around and found there was no one there to help him. He had to make this journey on his own. But, God did send a helper to Simon. He helped Jesus carry that heavily burdened cross through the town streets.
Sometimes in your life, you will find yourself alone. People you never thought would leave you have turned their backs and forsaken you. Or, through greater circumstances are not able to be with you even though they wish they could. Either way, you are still left to carry this burden.
What we need to realize is that all along the way God has angels ready to assist you. They are watching with bated breath.
This was Jesus’ weak moment but also His strongest. It was His strongest because He chose to walk out the calling on His life no matter the pain and no matter the cost.
Jesus also understood grief. His friend Lazarus had died. He was buried in a tomb just like Jesus was to be. Jesus wept. Weeping means to express an overpowering emotion especially grief. To let fall drops of water. To mourn with tears. To put forth weeping.
Tears = water. Water= Holy Spirit
Allowing the Holy Spirit to pour out and sow seeds to your great future
Jesus understood what it meant to loose His best friend, too. For me, that was my mom and grandmothers. Truly the only ones who had my back and only wanted what was best. Who looked out for, poured their best into me and helped mold me into who I am today.
My earthly father also went with the Lord to Heaven. He was more of a challenging parental unit. He was an E5 Drill Sergeant in the U.S. Army for 25 years. He was his job to prepare people to fight for their lives and save the people around them. He knew how to challenge people. And you had to make the choice if you were going to be stronger than your circumstances and have victory over the challenge or not. And, in the military, no challenge is too strong to be defeated. The automatic response is to fight and aim to win. There is a purpose in your fight.
Both of my parents taught me to never give up. So did Jesus. Amid His grief, I find comfort. And the knowledge that God still understands me in the midst of my loss and depression always gave me hope to keep fighting one more day. Sometimes it’s overwhelming to look at the bigness of the war that presented in front of you, that you know you must fight. But, it is more believable to even the deepest and darkest cavities within you that you can look a battle in the eye and win.
Battle after battle. Don’t give up. Just win. Focus on the strength to win just this one battle in front of you now. Forget the rest. Give yourself recovery time in between battles. Hide in the shadows of the highest. (Psalms) Pray for shelter, protection, restoration, and courage to get up and fight again.
Hazardous death and temporary laying in the tomb was a foreshadowing of Jesus and what was to come. I can’t help but wonder if Jesus also knew this and during His time of weeping He was also experiencing grief for himself and the tests and brutality that were to come.
Jesus died, was buried, and rose again. Lazarus died, was buried, and rose again.
If you pay attention and listen to the Holy Spirit, God will tell you what is to come for your life. Don't ignore it and don't be upset by it.
Jesus also allowed himself to go through the grieving process. Albeit His was much shorter in time, but not in the depths of pain. I also learned to allow myself to go through the grieving process. These emotions are real and it is allowed, permissible, and okay to go through. But please note, it is going THROUGH. I decided to look straight ahead at the giant to come and win.
It is healthy and necessary for our pain to be acknowledged and taken care of healthily. That too is a decision you must make. Are you going to put on a mask and pretend everything is ok or be honest with yourself and allow Jesus into your pain? He suffered more than you so He could heal you. That was the decision He made thousands of years ago. Not only is He willing and waiting to heal your pain but also your sins.
He also decided to become your shame, hate, sin, fleshly desires, alcoholism, and cancer. He decided on the great exchange so you can experience His freedom, trust, and heavy desires and wishes. Jesus took the greater punishment to heal your wounds. Nothing is too big or outside His control.
Every knee must bow to the name of Jesus. Nothing and no one is greater than He is.
He is the one with the miracles to heal you.
God lifted the pain of grief, depression, and anxiety off of me on my mother’s birthday when I went to visit the family gravesite. March 29, 2015. He broke the yoke off of me. It was a work that had to be done in me. He has signed on another side of your pain. Someone is waiting for God’s use in you on the other side of your work ethic, obedience, and your decision.
The decision is up to you. Will you go through? Will you choose life?
Do you choose Jesus?
Jesus got alone. He took time away from the multitudes. He allowed God to do the work in Him. And that is what it means when scripture says He is that author and finisher of our faith. God knows how to finish what He starts. But, also make sure that what you are starting is what God has called you to do. He has no claim over anything that started in vain. (On your own without His prompting or leadings)
You can’t take everyone into your pain and you can’t take everyone into your victory.
Life is about so much more.
Are you more concerned with your selfie or your heart in front of God (selflessness)? Do you always have to be the center of attention? Or are you ok with working and being transformed in the fields? God knows how to take you from obscurity to front-page headlines. King David. Ester. Moses. Humble yourself before God and He will exalt you in due time. God’s timetable not your own.
Jesus also teaches us that it’s okay to accept our humanity. Including our weaknesses.
I was at my dad’s funeral and someone came up to hug me and said “Be strong” and that immediately upset me and made me angry. I took care of my dad for 5 years with minimal help. No one from our family ever came to be there during the hard parts. Or any parts. I was responsible for his life. His life was dependent upon mine. Medications, Dr visits, cleaning up after him, sleeping next to his bed in the hospital. I did it all. I have been strong for the past 5 years. Not only am I exhausted from that alone, but my father is in a casket 3 feet away from me. If this isn’t the time to cry and grieve, then when? I chose at that moment that I will not allow my emotional reality and health to be subdued and shoved under the rug to keep you comfortable. If you can not accept me in my reality you have no place in my healing.
Jesus also knows what it feels like to suffer betrayal. Someone from his camp sold Him out. Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. I take that to mean, that even though people who you used to trust your heart will betray you with an action that displays intimacy to the world, no matter the actual shallowness of the action that only the two of you will know. They want the world to see how close they can get to you. But they also want to enjoy the power trip they get from the possible destruction of you. Little did Judas know, that what He thought was his set up for the failure of Jesus was the catalyst to propel Jesus to fulfill His destiny.
